Club History

The Cross Court Athletic Club, a full service athletic club and fitness center, opened its doors to its members on June 10, 1979 after 8 months of planning and construction. We have had the honor of serving thousands of Yolo County resident’s young and old alike for many years and will do so for many more to come.

Our gracious reception to the community has been very rewarding and we have taken it very seriously. Our goal has always been the same, customer service and to provide a first class “always changing” facility.

Please come visit, try us out, and see all that Cross Court Athletic Club has to offer you! The Cross Courts accommodating staff awaits your arrival.

Sincerely,

Steve M. Harris : Owner/General Manager 1979
Suzee Naff : Operations Manager 1995
Lori Stewart : Fitness Manager 1982
Nancy Biasi : Office Manager 1991

Julie Barrios
I am Julie Barrios; I have been in the fitness business since 1990 and with Cross Court Athletic Club since 1993. I received my AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America) Certifications in Group Exercise in 1990 and Personal Training Certification in 1998. Along the path of my fitness lifestyle and business I ran into a medical issue. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, which is a treatable thyroid condition that affects many. This condition causes you to gain weight even though you are doing all the right things, getting plenty of rest and exercise and eating right.

My personal passion is to work with those that struggle with weight issues but have the desire and determination to make changes. I strongly believe in introducing new moves and routines so that the body and mind stays challenged. To help with the always changing fitness trends and to continue with these challenges, I will continue to invest my time in research and fitness certification classes.

If you would like to meet with me, please give me a call at 530-666-1319 or email me at jujubarrios@hotmail.com.

Stacy Contreras
I am Stacy Contreras; I have been employed with Cross Court Athletic Club since 1992. I received my AFAA Certifications for Personal Training in 2002; Stability Ball certification in 2007 and in 2009 was certified to teach Kick Boxing. November 2008 we, myself and CCAC Trainer Julie Barrios started the Cross Court Biggest Loser program. This program yielded amazing results, the winner of the 1st Biggest Loser lost 11% of their body weight and in February 2009 the winner lost 21% of their body weight. This is a 12-week program geared to anyone who wants or needs to lose weight using determination, dedication, consistency and belief in ones self.

I truly enjoy teaching classes and creating challenging programs such as Biggest Loser, but my true passion is Personal Training. Working with individuals, no matter their fitness level is very rewarding. I believe in the power of fitness, healthy living and helping others reach their goal through hard work and dedication. Results are what drive me.

If today is your day to make changes in your life, please give me a call at 530-666-1319 or email me at stacycontreras@yahoo.com re: Personal Training, and we can do it together.

I received my Personal Training Certification through the Aerobic Fitness Association of America (AFAA) in September 2004. I taught Elementary Physical Education for 9 years and while pregnant with my 3rd daughter decided to get my training certification. I believe in leading by example and have a passion for living a healthy lifestyle. My training style includes a variety of weight lifting and cardio moves to keep your body challenged and is individualized to fit all levels of fitness. My Philosophy of Training:
  • My Idea: Focused Training

  • Target Goal: Better overall health, wellness, stability and state of mind
I feel that wellness is many-faceted; it extends its reach to the body, mind and our spiritual wellbeing. I have studied Physical Fitness as well as Comparative Religions and feel that there is a clear link between the two.
